ANNOUNCEMENT: CQB League Registration on now until January
ANNOUNCEMENT: CQB League Registration on now until January
Hi everyone, While the response for participation has been amazing this year, the call for volunteers hasn’t. This has both it’s up-sides and down-sides. It means more players, and better prizes, but it also means more work on the core individuals who run the League and day-to-day activities. Unfortunately, from now until early January I will be traveling out of province a great deal, and I won’t be able to participate in the day-to-day activities that keep the League going every week. Because everyone I’ve talked with still wants the League to go on no matter what, we have decided to postpone the start of the League from lave November to early January 2010. This too has pros and cons. It is understandable if the schedule shift causes some of you some issues, so please email me or see Gord at Xtreme-Tactics, and we can work it out. Thanks for listening, and I apologize if this has caused some of you some headaches. Thanks, Rich (John.Doe)  Read More →

2009-2010 CQB League Pricing Update & Grand Prize Information
2009-2010 CQB League Pricing Update & Grand Prize Information
So, as promised, I’ve got an update for everyone. Last year we offered a new “pre-pay” option that was universally adopted by all players.  Seeing as it was such a success, this year’s fees will be “pre-pay” only – unless special exceptions need to be made. Also, last year the League was once again run at a loss.  This is taking a huge toll on my family, and while Xtreme Tactics has done everything possible to keep costs low, events like the wind-up BBQ, CQB Challenge, and wind-down party at the end of the year have all been paid out of pocket by me, and other CQB League volunteers. It’s pretty disturbing to see comments indicating the league is a “money grab”, or implying that I (or other people) run this to make money.  See below for the cost breakdown, and what this year’s Grand Prize will be. 007 Airsoft was gracious enough to offer the Grand Prizes last year at a substantial discount to the League – last minute...

Airsoft Manioba & Xtreme Tactics CQB League 2009-2010
Airsoft Manioba & Xtreme Tactics CQB League 2009-2010
It’s that time of year again. The 2009-2010 CQB League is winding up, and for us to start the planning, we need show of hands. If you intend on participating in the CQB League this year, please fill out the Preliminary Signup Form. We are also looking for volunteers, so if you don’t think you can form a team, but still want to be involved with the League – send me an email at info@airsoftmanitoba.com and let me know your availability and contact info. The CQB League Rules have not changed from last year, so feel free to check out the rules page.  Teams will once again be 3-4 man (or woman!) teams. Cheers, and I look forward to seeing all the familiar faces, and any new players looking to hone their CQB skills. Also, look for upcoming individual & team events like the 2009 CQB Challenge. CONGRATULATIONS TEAM XT!
CONGRATULATIONS TEAM XT!
After a great game, Team XT won the 2008-2009 CQB League Championship. Some of you may remember last season, where Team XT came in second, but this year they came out on top. Great work everyone, and we hope to see you all back next year! Here’s some pics of the Championship Game Day: #gallery-2 { margin: auto; } #gallery-2 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-2 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-2 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } I also managed to (finally) get the videos off the camera.  I’m just working on getting them transcoded so they’re not 700MB… AND IT’S DONE! Finals!
Finals!
Team Hellfish, and Team XT will play in the Championship Game next week Wednesday. Silky Smooth and The SUITS faught each other so hard, the game went into a 5-minute “overtime” game to decide the victor.  Ultimately, gun problems gave The SUITS too many problems to battle back from.  Silky Smooth capitalized on the problems, winning deciseively in the extra time. Both games were well-faught, and all four teams deserve to win.  Next Wednesday will determine who wins the Grand Prize (which just arrived today – and man, they’re sexy)! Congratulations, and Thanks goes to every player, referee, volunteer, and to the people at Xtreme-Tactics for making this Season possible. Now, on to the festivities!!!!!  Read More →

Poll: You pick the new Grand Prize!
Poll: You pick the new Grand Prize!
Hello everyone, Unfortunately, I’ve been having troubles getting the grand prizes from our original sponsor. Fortunately, Ken from 007 Airsoft has really stepped-up to the plate and has given us a few options within our budget. As much as I would love to make a decision for all of us and leave it be, I can’t do that – it wouldn’t be fair. I made a commitment at the beginning of the year, and as circumstances would have it, that that commitment has been broken. For that, please accept my sincerest apologies. So, when circumstances out of my hands arise, I take action. Ken (007 Airsoft), has been amazing thus far, and to keep things fair to him – we need to make a decision quickly. Cast your vote below. The option with the most votes will be the new Grand Prize this year. What should the "new" Grand Prize be? KJW Plastic-slide Glock 23 (x4) (80%, 4 Votes) KJW Metal Beretta M9 (x3) (20%, 1 Votes) KJW Metal-slide Glock 23 (x3) (0%, 0 Votes) KJW...

Stats Correction – Game Day 3
Stats Correction – Game Day 3
Hey everyone, In my haste to tally the points (objective reward[50 or 0] – deaths round 1 – referee penalties round 1 – deaths round 2 – referee panalties round 2 = TOTAL POINTS) yesterday, I announced the outcome of the Suits vs Team Hellfish game as Suits (-16) and Team Hellfish (-4).  Declaring Team Hellfish the winner. I was incorrect. While entering the actual referee scoresheet results into the tracking spreadsheet, the computer calculated the totals as Suits (-16) and Team Hellfish (-28).  This means Team Hellfish was not the winner as I previously announced, and that the Suits won the match. I double, triple, and quadruple-checked the points manually and re-entered them into the spreadsheet.  I also contacted the referee that was shot during the multiple raids Team Hellfish executed on the Suits’ base, to confirm his penalty counts.  And the death count referee to confirm how he tallied the deaths for each round.  They were accurate, and the errors...
